The first step in understanding the causes of acne is to recognize that poor hygiene is one of the components which cause an acne condition. It can also be derived from genetics or hormones. The misnomer that unclean skin causes acne is erroneous. Actually, it is all glandular. As hormones increase, so does the production of oil. Thus, when the oil-producing gland near the surface of the skins opens, there is an oil build-up within the gland and the beginning of an acne condition develops.
There are several reasons why a person contracts acne. Specifically, when your skin becomes oily and clogs the pores, it is at this point the bacterium develops; and you break out in whiteheads, blackheads or pimples. Therefore, if your skin is naturally oily; you have raging hormones; amassed dead skin cells; your pores then become an open invitation to bacteria, which will lead to an acne outbreak.

I am 16 and have been trying to get rid of my acne for years. Recently, I went to the hospital for my acne medication (it was pill form). I ended up no longer able to use pill acne treatments. I have been using topical acne medication and all they seem to do is dry my skin, they don’t really do anything for my acne. I was wondering if anyone knew of an effective topical treatment, or a natural treatment. I have tried vinegar and honey but that doesn’t seem to work to well. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

I’m 15.I’ve gone through acne, with the dermatologists, lots and lots of products etc etc and I don’t really have pimples anymore. The eventual 2 to 3 but they go away fast. What bothers me about my face,is the fact that I have blemishes( red spots left after pimples). These red spots REALLY annoy me.I’ve never popped my pimples,as I know it leaves scars. But I still have these red spots!!!!! Does anyone know any natural remedies for this? I do drink 2 liters of water every day,and I don’t eat candy/chocolate,and I just want something for my face that i can make at home and wear outside. These blemishes REALLY are getting on my nerves ._.
