For years, modern medicine has diligently sought out a specific cause for acne. Many people who are lucky enough to avoid serious acne problems mistakenly think of acne as only a “skin disorder”. Many are turning to natural solutions for common problems such as acne. Natural acne remedies offer relief which is often less costly than prescription medicine with less dangerous side effects. Many of the ingredients in acne medications can do more harm than good when it comes to your skin. Toothpaste is a common remedy many use to get rid of acne. Cover the affected area with toothpaste and cover with a band-aid if desired. You can do this before bedtime and wash off with soap and water in the morning or if you prefer, leave on for about three hours and then wash it off thoroughly. Use plain toothpaste, not the gel or tarter control type as these may irritate your skin.
