I have tried oral antibiotics such as tetracycline and others like it, all worked okay but soon i became immune and no longer would the bacteria fighting agents be affective. Instead of continuing down the RX path, i would rather try natural or day spa treatments. Has anybody tried natural supplements for CYSTIC ACNE or got spa services that showed improvement in the skin? In case you don’t know, CYSTIC ACNE is a whole different kind of acne. Produced by non typical oils, acids, and bacteria in the follicle and dis functions shedding dead skin cells. Therefore products like proactive and such topical acne treatments are completely pointless.
Also does anyone know of any kind of creams that will reduce the purplish color that comes with this kind of acne? Please no recommendations that haven’t been successful for you or someone you know. Thanks so much for the help!

From May-Sept my face just breaks out from cystic looking white heads despite prescribed acne medication, over the counter products, or home remedies. I spend the rest of the year trying to fade away all the ugly scars just to start the cycle over again. I’ve come to the point where I don’t even wear make up. I exercise drink plenty of water healthy diet but I don’t understand why my face turns to oatmeal every summer???? Considering chemical peel…maybe you all can offer some advice…

Doxycycline is an antibiotic that’s given for acne. Are there any types of vitamins or natural products that are effective for this? I don’t want to spend the rest of my life using antibiotics. I’ve tried Proactive and other creams and stuff. Nothing else has worked.

My daughter is 16 and has had serious acne problems since 4th grade. She’s seen a dermatologist since then as well, and is tired of nothing working. She’s frustrated and wanting to try a dietary approach. Does any one have suggestions for her? She’s bumped up fiber, added B vitamins and zinc, and eliminated the majority of dairy. Thanks much for your help

I’ve never really suffered from bad acne like this before. Just when my face clears up, I have to get this ugly cystic pimple under my nose, and then another on my chin. I’ve tried applying a hot compress to help it come to a head, but it doesn’t help. I also wash my face twice a day, are there any home remedies that will speed up the process? I’ve heard lemon juice and honey work, but I’m not sure.
Please help, it’s destroying my self esteem to the point where I’m embarrassed to go out in public and I can’t have fun anymore.

I am 24 and still get pimples during the later days of my monthly period. However, this time I have a cystic acne on my cheek, almost beside my nose… you know, that big painful red acne that has a lot of pus in it that just won’t squeeze out. It’s been on my face for a week now, and it seems like I’m not getting rid of it in a couple of days.
I’ve scrubbed, used pore cleansing masks, used astringent toners, used lemon juice… and now I have soft smooth clean skin, except for that one bothersome cystic acne on my cheek!

In the past five years or so, I’ve developed cystic acne, as well as noticing a lot of sun damage on my face from tanning beds when I was younger. I am fair-skinned and have tried to avoid the sun as much as possible lately to ward off any future damage.
I have not been able to go find a good remedy or treatment for either my acne or the spots on my face and I’ve noticed lately both are getting worse. I’ve tried everything from Target-brand exfoliating scrubs to $50 tubes of retinol from Philosophy, and nothing has really helped.
